Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, we are looking for a self-starter with a strong recruitment, customer service, and communication background. You will be responsible for the full cycle recruitment and selection process while also helping develop and implement strategic recruitment plans. This role requires a high degree of collaboration involving multiple internal teams.   
What You Will Achieve in This Role:
  • Act as a business partner to achieve staffing objectives by recruiting and evaluating job candidates, advising hiring managers, and supporting with onboarding candidates;
  • Efficiently and effectively fulfill the full-cycle recruitment process;
  • Develop job postings/job descriptions, screen candidates, coordinate, participate and support operations with interviews and coordinate pre-employment screenings, and prepare offer letters;   
  • Ensure a positive candidate experience throughout the recruitment and onboarding process;
  • Coordinate and deliver on-boarding and conduct 3 month and 6 month follow up for new employees;
  • Conducts research, data analysis, benchmarking, measuring and report preparation specific to effectiveness of HR processes;
  • Work with the Corporate Human Resources team to analyze and maintain recruitment and retention data and trends;
  • Represent the Company at networking events and job fairs;
  • Develop pipelines of candidates for various positions from post-secondary education organizations, driving schools, skilled trades schools, new Canadian networks, etc.;
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of talent acquisition practices and resources;
  • Work with Corporate Communications, use social media platforms to expand and improve the Company’s recruitment brand;
  • Visit branches within BC and conduct retention audits to determine gaps; 
  • May be assigned other HR generalist tasks as required.
 What You Will Bring to This Role:
  • A degree/diploma in Business, Human Resources, or related discipline preferred (or equivalent combination of education and experience); 
  • A minimum of 2 to 4 years’ experience (or equivalent) in the recruitment industry;
  • Work experience in the transportation, logistics or trades related industries or within an agency is considered an asset;
  • Excellent computer skills with MS Office Suite, Recruitment Management Systems software and/or web recruitment tools including Indeed, LinkedIn and other social media;
  • Excellent interpersonal and effective written and verbal communication skills;
  • Ability to communicate with various levels of management, staff, and external clients while delivering excellent customer service and candidate experience;
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities and professional judgement, strong sense of urgency, flexibility and adaptability;
  • Quickly gathers and disseminates information which allows for a sound business decision when dealing with ambiguity;
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as a team member;
  • Proven business acumen and demonstrated success with direct sourcing methodologies and excellent negotiation skills;
  • Ability to travel as required up to 25% of the time; and
  • Ability to work outside of normal business hours occasionally.
