The newly created position of Operations Analyst will work directly with senior executives and project teams across the company to enhance all aspects of current and future operations, including collections, processing, engineering, and logistical departments.

What will you do?
  • Review and report on production metrics and KPIs;
  • Execute on and monitor implemented programs, such as quality control and productivity control programs;
  • Create process manuals for new and old processes along with maintenance of process manuals when improvements to the process are implemented;
  • Create evaluation programs and KPIs to determine inefficiency root causes and provide recommendations and implementations;
  • Propose solutions and project plans along with design of processes, layouts, and databases/reports;
  • Map and analyze various departments with process improvements recommendations and implementations;
  • Design and implement error reducing programs between departments to improve overall productivity;
  • Analyze plant operations including quality levels, downtime, throughput and productivity studies, time and motion studies, optimum personnel levels and cost saving improvements;
  • Analyze fleet operations including driver and routing efficiency, time and motion studies, equipment effectiveness and cost saving improvements;
  • Implement productivity and quality control programs in plant production and fleet collections operations;
  • Implement energy saving programs;
  • Assist with large scale engineering projects and bids for collections and processing contracts;
  • Research new technology and equipment;
  • Other special projects as assigned.
 
What will you bring?
  • Completion of a diploma or degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Engineering;
  • Minimum of 1 year’s experience required in a technical position or work experience in the waste, recycling, manufacturing or transportation industry preferred;
  • Intermediate AutoCAD skills required;
  • Experience with routing and mapping software and experience with GIS principles and software will be considered an asset;
  • Strong computer knowledge with advanced MS Office Suite;
  • Takes initiative and ownership of tasks and drives through to completion;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively work well with teams and provide leadership.
 
Working Environment: 
  • Primarily office but will require regular field work and occasional travel.
